The 17 episode (15 January 2026) featured an interactive discussion on “Recent Developments on Enforcement in the UAE from Its Three Jurisdictions”, in our ‘A Case in Time’ Headnote series.
Sara Koleilat-Aranjo, Issey Park, and Chelsea Pollard, of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, the authors of the GAP chapter on UAE, provided a discussion of the selected cases, followed by comments from Joanna Kisielińska-Garncarek Gessel, Warsaw (short bios of the speakers below) and a Q&A with the participants. Chatham House rule applied. The event chat was opened to facilitate networking and interaction.

Joanna Kisielińska-Garncarek, she specializes in arbitration and litigation. Her practice includes disputes in the broad field of business law, including international trade and M&A transactions.
Sara Koleilat-Aranjo, leads Morgan Lewis’s international arbitration, dispute resolution, and global investigations practice across the Middle East and Africa. Sara focuses her practice on international arbitration and dispute prevention and resolution, primarily in cases with cross-border elements. She advises and represents the interests of governments, semi-governments, and corporations in proceedings arising out of inbound and outbound investments in the Middle East and Africa across a range of sectors, including energy, real estate, hospitality, construction, banking and finance, distribution, and technology, media, and telecommunications. Sara is admitted to practice in New York, Paris, Beirut and the Dubai International Financial Center and is a registered Legal Consultant in the Legal Affairs Department of the Emirate of Dubai. She speaks Arabic, French, and English.
Issey Park, is an Associate at Morgan Lewis. Issey advises on international commercial arbitration, investor-state dispute settlement, and private international law matters. Issey is qualified in Korea and England & Wales and has represented clients from various countries, including the United Arab Emirates and South Korea, in institutional and ad hoc arbitrations. Issey has served with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in Vienna and experience in case administration from the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) in Seoul.
Chelsea Pollard, is an associate in the dispute resolution practice, focusing on international arbitration, cross-border litigation, and dispute avoidance. She has particular knowledge of international arbitration and has been involved in advising and representing clients in various sectors, including construction, energy, hospitality, healthcare, consumer goods, aviation, and finance. Chelsea is qualified to practice in California. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Chelsea worked as an associate at one of the largest regional law firms in the Middle East and at the Asian International Arbitration Centre, where she was part of the standard form of building contracts team.
