ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Laura Cundari, Laura is an experienced advocate and one of Benchmark Litigation’s Top 100 Women in Canadian Litigation. She has extensive experience litigating and arbitrating disputes in the food, beverage and agribusiness, energy, mining, construction, cannabis, hospitality, retail, technology and infrastructure sectors.
Laura is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and an Arbitration Place NexGen Arbitrator with particular expertise in the arbitration of complex domestic and international disputes. She was appointed in 2021 by the Government of British Columbia to serve a five-year term as a roster member for BC’s Bid Protest Mechanism and Dispute Resolution panels, which were established under the New West Partnership Trade Agreement and the Canadian Free Trade Agreement.
Laura sits on the boards of the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre (VanIAC) and CanArbWeek. She is a member of ICDR’s Canada Advisory Committee, co-chair of CPR’s Canada Advisory Board, and co-lead of the North American Group of the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center.
At Blakes, Laura is co-chair of the Vancouver Student Committee and past chair of the Vancouver Women@Blakes Committee.
Sally Kotb, is a partner in the UAE Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration practice of Habib Al Mulla & Partners, a member firm of Baker & McKenzie International. Sally has been featured as a Future Leader (Non-Partner) for Arbitration by Who’s Who Legal in the UAE and as one of Africa’s 50 Most Promising Arbitration Practitioners 2020 by the Association of Young Arbitrators. Her practice focuses on the resolution of both local and international commercial arbitration disputes across a broad spectrum of industry sectors, including construction, real estate, energy, distribution, M&A & shareholders’ disputes. She also regularly acts as arbitrator under both ad-hoc and leading arbitral institutional rules, including the ICC, LCIA, DIAC, ADCCAC, CRCICA and the BCDR.
Olga Sendetska, is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group based in Frankfurt.
Olga advises clients in commercial and investment arbitration. She also has experience dealing with matters related to complex cross-border disputes including mass proceedings as well as arbitration-related litigation. Olga joined Freshfields in 2015 and during her time with the firm has worked in the firm’s Frankfurt, London, and Dubai offices.
Olga has experience advising in disputes under the ICC, DIS, ICSID, LCIA, VIAC, UNCITRAL, and CAS rules and has worked with German, CEE, CIS, Middle Eastern and international clients from various sectors including pharma, energy, finance, banking, aerospace, professional services, construction, and sports.
Olga teaches English law at the Goethe University Frankfurt, is an Assistant Editor for Europe with the Kluwer Arbitration Blog, a co-founder of ARBinBRIEF and a Young ArbitralWomen Practitioners (YAWP) Steering Committee Member. She regularly speaks and publishes on international arbitration.
Having been recognized by Handelsblatt and Best Lawyers in their Ones to Watch list, Olga is recognized as being among the top of the upcoming generation of arbitration lawyers.
