Other information you wish to provide, including your regional and institutional expertise
I am an England & Wales-qualified Barrister and Solicitor, based in Muscat, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. I am available for appointments as sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator, alongside my practice as counsel in international arbitration and commercial disputes. My practice focuses particularly on construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy and oil & gas disputes. I have substantial experience of complex international arbitrations arising from major projects and commercial agreements, acting for Omani and international clients including listed companies, state-owned enterprises, contractors and manufacturers. I have acted as lead counsel in arbitrations under the ICC, UNCITRAL, DIAC and LCIA Rules, as well as in ad hoc proceedings. My experience spans disputes in the construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, drilling, cement and manufacturing sectors, including international arbitrations exceeding US$100 million. My construction and engineering practice includes disputes under FIDIC and other project contracts involving delay, disruption, extensions of time, variations, payment, defects, termination and complex contractual, technical and quantum issues. I also have experience of wider commercial, shareholder, joint venture and contractual disputes. Before relocating to Oman, I practised as a disputes partner in London. My background combines common law advocacy and dispute resolution experience with substantial experience of disputes and commercial practice in Oman and the wider GCC. I regularly work with boards, senior management, in-house counsel, project teams, witnesses and technical, delay, quantum and forensic experts, and have experience managing disputes from their early stages through written submissions, document production, expert evidence, hearings and settlement. Arbitrator availability I am available for appointment as sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in domestic and international commercial arbitrations, including ad hoc and institutional proceedings. I welcome appointments across a range of dispute values, particularly in matters involving construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing and general commercial contracts. I also welcome instructions to act as counsel in international and domestic arbitration and complex commercial disputes.
