My general philosophy is to serve the Parties by:
Procedural flexibility: I tend to respect parties agreements on procedural issues. With less experienced counsel my approach is didactic and inclusive to ensure that they feel comfortable with the proceedings. Limited document production: I am not favourable to document production if it is not part of the Parties’ legal tradition. Attention to detail and preparedness: I respect counsel’s work and, thus, read all pleadings and materials and fully prepare for hearings. Agility: I will only accept your case if I have time to devote to it. My procedural decisions tend to be influenced by efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Cultural and political sensitivity: I was born and raised in Venezuela but became an immigrant in Europe, where I am now established. I have lived in the US as well. Thus, I am acutely aware of political, cultural, economic and religious sensitivities. Commercial sensitivity: I make decisions considering the commercial viability of parties’ relationships.
