I am looking for my first appointment! I am not new to arbitration. As a barrister in England, I was appointed as counsel in dozens of arbitrations. Those arbitrations tended to be either ad hoc, or on LMAA terms, and ranged in value from a few hundred thousand pounds up to tens of millions of US dollars. I was also involved in advising, and drafting submissions, in the context of GAFTA and FOSFA arbitrations. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the LMAA and LCIA, and a panellist at the SCMA. I have taught and published on arbitration law (and extensively as a law professor across a number of areas of law and jurisdictions). I was recently recruited to the Law Commission of England & Wales to lead on its current review of the Arbitration Act 1996. I am particularly keen to receive appointment in documents-only arbitrations, and am very happy to be appointed for small value claims too.
