Omar is an English law qualified Commercial Barrister practising at the Bar of England and Wales. As Counsel, Omar's day-to-day practice includes domestic High Court and County Court commercial litigation, spanning interim hearings, trials and providing strategic advice on complex questions of commercial law and practice.  Omar is regularly instructed in a broad range of disputes, including: banking and finance, personal and corporate insolvency, international commercial contracts, insurance and reinsurance, company and shareholder litigation and sports and agency litigation. He possesses full rights of audience before all Courts in England and Wales, and has been involved in high profile cases before the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.  Parallel to his expertise in English commercial litigation, Omar also possesses experience acting in international commercial arbitrations in an array of disputes and jurisdictions and before a number of arbitral institutions. Specifically, Omar advises on strategy throughout all stages of arbitration, including challenges to jurisdiction, awards, third-party funding, enforcement and the drafting of specialist arbitration agreements. His academic and professional experience in international commercial and investment arbitration provides him with the nous and tact to conduct arbitrations efficiently with a targeted commercial approach. Ruthlessly pragmatic, Omar is comfortable grappling with difficult questions of international commercial law and arbitral procedure, proactively assisting all parties at every stage of the arbitration. Omar's working language is English. He is however also fluent in speaking Punjabi and Urdu and has basic knowledge of Arabic and German.
