ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS
Marie Danis joined August Debouzy in 2009 as a partner after beginning her career at FreshfieldsBruckhaus Deringer. She advises French and international clients on international arbitration and business litigation matters, and has extensive experience in post-acquisition disputes. She has also developed a noteworthy expertise in annulment proceedings against awards before French state courts. Marie Danis is an active board member of Paris: Home of Arbitration, an association promoting Paris as an international arbitration forum. She played a key role in initiating the Paris Arbitration Week event in 2017 and is still a member of the organisation committee for the 2019 event. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the French Arbitration Association. She teaches arbitration and legal strategy at the universities of Paris X, Dauphine and Paris Saclay, and at the Paris Bar School. She is regarded as an “excellent professional” in the field of arbitration.
Thomas Granier is a co-founder of Delos and member of its Arbitration Consultative Committee, and Counsel at ASAFO & Co. Mr Granier acts as counsel and arbitrator in a wide array of disputes relating in particular to new technologies, IT, energy, M&A, joint-ventures, construction and distribution. Mr Granier has acted in a number of commercial and investment arbitrations, both ad hoc and under the rules of leading institutions, including the HKIAC, the ICC, the LCIA, and ICSID. Prior to joining ASAFO &Co., Mr Granier was an attorney at McDermott Will & Emery, and previously served as counsel for the Africa, Middle-East and Europe Team at the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris, after having acted as deputy counsel for the Germany, Switzerland, and Austria Team. At the ICC, Mr Granier supervised more than 300 arbitrations and reviewed a number of arbitration awards. He is listed among the Future Leaders of Arbitration by Who’s Who Legal.
Opeyemi Longe is an Associate in White & Case’s International Arbitration group in London. His practice focuses on international commercial arbitration and investment arbitration. Prior to joining White & Case, Opeyemi was an Associate in the dispute resolution practice of a leading commercial firm in Nigeria, during which he represented multinational corporations and financial institutions in litigations and arbitrations in Nigeria.
Mourad Seghir is s Partner at Bennani & Associés in charge of the Algiers office. Mourad received his LL.M. Degree (Master of Laws) from Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago, USA). Mourad is admitted to the New York bar and has spent a substantial part of his career with Ghellal & Mekerba in Algiers. Mourad is particularly knowledgable with respect to the Algerian law and practice related to foreign investments, joint venture, M&A, public and private contracts, exchange control regulation, labor law, and infrastrucute projects.
